But, my opinion is that the president should not have done this, because it is the night of the 31st where many accidents and deaths are happening. And it is the parties and taverns that are the supper spreaders of the virus, and yet he did not heed to the fact that this might cause the country big time.

Actually, I would say that it was going to be better if the president would have decided on harder restrictions. And I could say that it was also going to be a good night if the president closed alcohol, but this did not be.

The National Coronavirus Command Council (NCCC) took the decision of scraping Curfew with immediate effect. South Africa has lift-off Curfew, this means that it has been lifted for the first time since March 2020, with no restrictions on hours of movement.

Gatherings are restricted to no more than 1 000 people indoors and no more than 2 000 people outdoors.

According to the report from the office of the presidency, Alcohol establishments that have licenses to operate beyond 23h00 will revert back to full license conditions.
