2021 Miss SA Lalela’s Dreams Cut Short

No Miss SA’s reign has been fraught with more drama than Miss Lalela Mswane’s reign in 2021. She just got crowned in October, and less than a month later, everything descended into chaos. Now, it seems like she may not even be able to take part in the Miss Universe pageant in Israel.

Ever since it was announced that the Miss Universe pageant would be held in Israel, Lalela has had to deal with the whole country calling for her to boycott the competition. It is not a good look, they say, for a beauty queen from a country with a painful history of apartheid, to be so willing to attend the pageant in a country accused of the same crimes against humanity.

Recently, the government also pulled its support for the young model and basically hung her out to dry. As of then, if Lalela was to attend the pageant anyway, she would be going as a private citizen, without the government’s support, and perhaps not even representing South Africa.

Medical experts in the country have now announced a new Covid 19 variant discovered in Mzansi, as well as in a few other neighboring countries. In response to this announcement, many countries are not putting up travel bans against southern African countries in which the strain has been found.

As soon as the announcement hit, tweeps remembered the beauty queen, who is set to grace the ceremony in December. They are remembering the fact that they told her to quit the pageant but she would not listen.

Too many detractors, it feels like karma has finally hit. Tweeps are telling Lalela that she should have listened to them from the start and that the universe works in mysterious ways. Clearly, she was never meant to attend the pageant, and they think this proves it.

Tweeps are giving her “one last chance” to bow out and save face. But Miss Lalela is yet to respond to all the noise, and it is unlikely that she will. In fact, she has kept largely silent every time the hate train has come calling.

Lalela has been saved by the restrictions, that’s if she’s not there already.

The Miss SA pageant organization did come out once before to clarify that she would not be bowing out due to pressure. But this time, it seems like they may have to call it off, even if they don’t want to. I mean, they can’t enter Israel. What is left to do?

We sympathize with Lalela. She worked really hard to get here, and it seems like her dream is being deferred once again. But it seems like it was not meant to be, and she may have to try again another time. If it’s meant to be, it will be, right?

Unathi Nkayi Speaks Out,Finally

Idols SA judge Unathi Nkayi has broken her silence after she was given the boot from Kaya FM 959 abruptly.

Unathi hogged the headlines after the radio station announced in a statement that her contract was terminated with immediate effect. The station said Nkayi’s contract ended prematurely due to certain conduct that rendered the relationship intolerable going forward.

Taking to her Instagram account, the TV star said she was silenced by the station from sharing her side of the story.

She said she received a letter from Kaya FM, stating that she is not allowed to speak about the matter publicly due to their contractual agreement. “The only matter I will address because it is very important to me is the theme of GBV that keeps on coming up.

She said she never alleged that Sizwe committed any act of Gender-Based Violence against her. “This all started when Sizwe made reference to GBV in South Africa in one of his many posts about me, but GBV had nothing to do with the matter. I never alleged at any time that Sizwe committed any act of gender-based violence against me, Sizwe knows this, Kaya 959 knows this,” she said.

Unathi said that she has handed the matter against Kaya over to her attorney. “For the record, Sizwe and I both submitted in writing allegations against each other. “Some founded and some were found not to be, from both of us. I have handed the matter against Kaya to handle legally.

“In closing, Sizwe and I are not friends, I have decided to distance myself from him the day he decided it was okay to say on air that my marriage failed because of the way I allow my children to prepare umphokoqo eyakho.”

City Press recently reported that the Idols SA judge was fired after a heated argument with Sizwe Dhlomo. Unathi allegedly lodged a formal complaint against Dhlomo with the Human Resources department after he was late for his show and allegedly verbally abused her.

Size recently reacted to the drama and gave his version of events. He said what was in the media is true and that he was left amazed at how Unathi Nkayi would lie about him. He said he warned Unathi not to take the matter to HR but she insisted.

“Verbal abuse is a very serious allegation so I believe I would have been fired but more importantly, my reputation would have been in tatters. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to hear her side of the story but as I said, the City Press article is mostly true,” he said.

Recently we have seen a spike in new Covid 19 cases. In response to this, the president has organized a meeting with the Coronavirus Council. There’s no saying what they will discuss but, there is a chance that we will find out soon. It’s possible that the president may address the nation soon. So if he does, here are some things he could cover.

The next lockdown :

For a while now South Africans have been hearing predictions about the Fourth wave of Covid 19 cases. However, I don’t think that many have considered that with the Fourth wave will come the possibility of another lockdown. I believe that if the new cases start to rise more, the president may put us in another period of lockdown and it’s something South Africans need to prepare for.

The Lockdown Bans :

With the Lockdown will come a whole set of new restrictions and bans, many of which will severely affect the lifestyles of South Africans. Some of the regular ones that we have seen through previous lockdowns are travel bans, alcohol bans, and even cigarette bans. Some of these may be returning soon depending on what the president announces when he does eventually address the nation.

The date may occur :

All predictions say that the fourth wave will hit us sometime in the middle of December. However in order to stop it from. Happening, we may want to act quickly. This is why I think it’s possible for the president to put us in a light lockdown as soon as he can.

UZALO is undoubtedly one of the most loved tv shows in the whole of South Africa. Proven by the very high views (millions) they accumulate daily. However, there is one thing that has completely turned viewers off in a recent episode.

However, fans have called out the soapie for failing to direct Nonka’s scene. Since she was stabbed and unconscious, she was not expected to do what she did. Apparently, she was wrapping her arm around Sibonelo for balance. “How is that possible whilst she is unconscious?”, A fan commented.
