DJ Zinhle And AKA’s New Found Friendship

DJ Zinhle And AKA’s New Found Friendship

AKA hyping and supporting his baby mama DJ Zinhle is probably the most heartwarming thing you will see today. The two have sparked rekindled romance rumors after AKA commented on a video his management company posted of Zinhle.

They might have rekindled something but it is most definitely not romance – at least for now. The duo is co-parents to Kairo Forbes, so it seems as though they are letting go of their egos for the betterment of their daughter.

An innocent display of support got turned into a farce and a big deal by trolls who wanted AKA to stop. AKA booked Zinhle to play at his Super Soft Sunday party at the Huula Beach Club in Germiston and she rocked the crowd.

AKA too was mesmerized and so he hyped Zinhle up and seemed excited for her set.

Now, this left a bitter taste in many people’s mouths as they do not want to see the two of them back together. They mentioned how AKA is apparently trying to lowkey ruin Zinhle’s new relationship with baby daddy Bongani ‘Murdah Bongz’ Mohosana

On the other hand, Zinhle is getting praises for being mature enough to play at her baby daddy’s gig and leaving the drama home.

Some of the comments are for and against this newfound friendship. A tweep questioned AKA’s intentions and told him to f**koff. But they received some smoke for such utterances. AKA’s biggest fan, @RubuThulisa said, “Lol you people are weird and fu** up. I feel sorry for kids y’all be raising with this mindset. What a sad and miserable generation y’all are.”

Another one agreed and said Zinhle’s intentions have always been good, “They are in a good space and parenting well, I’m happy for them. I also think it’s because Zinhle has always been mature about everything and always sought peace even when she was hurt over and over again. She never does anything to spite aka but I can’t say the same for him.”

“Truthfully & respectfully speaking Rubu, AKA would never do this if his fiancée was still alive. Cause he was throwing jabs at Zinhle a lot & saying things like ‘ge

t yourself a lekker 21-year-old then you’ll be happy’ etc. That’s the truth and you know it,” said @InHisTime.

The last time AKA publicly spoke about Zinhle was during his interview with Thembekile Mrototo after he answered questions involving Anele’s death. Shortly after the incident took place at the Pepper Club Hotel in Cape Town, investigators started doing their work and one of the people interviewed was the Indlovu Hitmaker. This was a very puzzling move to AKA as he questioned why was she interviewed and what direction is the inquest taking.

“Detectives flying up from Cape Town to interview Zinhle. Why? What are the directions of this inquest?” asked AKA.

Zinhle always remained mum about this until recently on an episode from her reality show. Speaking to Nomuzi ‘Moozlie’ Mabhena she said “This is something that is happening in Kiernan’s life but because Kiernan and I have a child together, it ends up affecting me. Kiernan has lost someone he loves and now people are making it about me,” said Zinhle.

Speaking to the camera, Zinhle said, “The thing about my life is a lot of things happen on social media and they’ve got nothing to do with me most of the time.”

“They just end up affecting me in some way, and I’ve learned not to care about it but this is also an emotional time in my life as I am pregnant,” she continued.

Most people are afraid of dating Sangomas, take a look on what people said

A certain individual shared a picture of two young beautiful ladies who have accepted the calling of being Sangomas. The picture was captioned, “would you date them” and comments showed that indeed people are afraid of dating Sangomas.

Traditional healers (sangomas) are known to be spiritual people and their work is to heal people and assist them with different things.

To show that people are afraid of dating Sangomas, I will share some of the comments:

“Imagine yall chilling then she says “I see u planning on cheating tomorrow” aweh mma 😭”.

” To be honest. People who are heavy on their beliefs are a no for me. All types of beliefs.”

” Never….they sometimes go through a period where they shouldn’t have s3x it can even be an abstinence of 3 months 😭”.

” I once did, one night she froze like a rainbow chicken in a freezer, her body cold as -12 degrees Celsius. I never panicked like that before thought she was dead only for her to say “hi” after 30 mins 😏”.

” I wouldn’t dare, I don’t even sit next to someone who’s wearing the sangoma attire…I had a traumatic experience with my late friend who had a calling..to be honest, I’m scared of sangoma”.

Home Affairs offices open between 7 am & 9 pm on election day

Home Affairs offices open between 7 am & 9 pm on election day

Home Affairs Department says there are still thousands of ID smart cards that are still to be collected from their offices. South Africans are voting in the Local Government Elections on Monday. Over 23 000 polling stations are expected to open at 7 am and will operate until 9 pm.

Department’s Director-General, Tommy Makhode says their offices will be open on Monday, 1 November, from 7 am until 9 pm for people to collect their smart cards, or apply for temporary identity documents(IDs) in order to go vote.

” Just before the voter weekend registration, for the 18th and 19th of October, they were sitting at around 400 000 and during that particular registration weekend, there were around 30 000 that were collected. Since then, we have been opening our offices operating extended hours, and this weekend we have another 30 000 IDs collected, so we’re sitting at around 330 000 that’s not collected,” says Makhode.

Voters not allowed to take photos of marked ballot papers

Voters not allowed to take photos of marked ballot papers

After special votes came to a close on Sunday, the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) held a briefing on its state of readiness ahead of the 2021 local government elections on Monday.

Special votes
During the briefing on Sunday evening, IEC chairperson Glen Mashinini indicated that the commission was “very confident that all systems are good” for election day following a successful two-day special voting.

Mashinini said 83% of those registered for a special vote cast their ballot this weekend.

“As of [6 pm], 502,837 out of 602,780 voters had been approved to vote as specials voters, and of those, we now know that 83% were able to cast their votes.

“We are please as the commission that such a large number of special voters, for the first time due to the Covid environment, were able to achieve this particular task,” he said.

The IEC chair said that the voters who were unable to cast a special vote for whatever reason may still cast their ballot at their voting stations on election day.

Election day

Ballots

Mashinini pointed out that voters who live in a metropolitan area will receive two ballots.

“One for award candidate and one for the political party. In addition, voters in local municipalities will receive a third ballot paper for the district council. Each ballot paper must be stamped on the reverse side to indicate the authenticity of the ballot during the counting process,” he added.

Voters must vote where they are registered and must bring their IDs.

The IEC chair said citizens whose registration details were not captured or updated on the commission’s system are allowed to vote on election day.

“In order to ensure that they are not disenfranchised, but would participate […] these voters will be permitted to vote as though their details were on the voters roll segment of the voting district in which they present themselves.

“This arrangement is authorized in terms of Section 72 of the Municipal Act, which allows a voter to be permitted to vote on presenting proof that they had applied for registration before the proclamation of an election,” he added.

Photos prohibited
The IEC chair also said voters were prohibited to take photos of their marked ballot papers.

Meanwhile, IEC chief electoral officer Sy Mamabolo explained further on the matter.

“I think the issue is not so much [about] policing people, but rather persuading people to desist from taking the photograph of the marked ballot.

“Why? This is to protect the secrecy of their votes because the possibility of taking a marked ballot can be used quite nefariously.

“There have been instances in the past where employers, especially for domestic workers, would say go to the [voting] station […] mark your ballot paper in a particular way and come back with proof that you voted in a particular way.

“So it is about protecting the secrecy yet at the same time protecting those vulnerable groups in society who may be, at the behest of their bosses and employers, subject to abuse,” Mamabolo said.

You can bring your pen
While the commission will provide sanitized pens at voting stations, Mashinini said the electoral body encourages voters to bring their own.

As a further measure to prevent the spread of the virus at voting stations, the IEC chair added that the commission would also be imposing strict protocols such as social distancing and the wearing of masks on election day.

The 2021 local government elections are set to take place on 1 November, and it will mark South Africa’s sixth municipal elections since the dawn of democracy in 1994.

The first democratic municipal elections took place in 1995 and 1996, while the first municipal elections run by the IEC took place in 2000.

The previous municipal elections were held in 2016.

The IEC on Tuesday revealed that it will proclaim and announce the election results on Thursday, 4 November.

Police on high alert as South Africa goes to vote

Police on high alert as South Africa goes to vote

Extra police personnel has been deployed to “hot spot” areas in KwaZulu-Natal and other provinces on Monday as thousands of voters are expected to mark their X for their preferred candidate.

On Sunday, Minister of Police Bheki Cele visited the province to assess the police’s readiness to ensure a safe election. KZN boasts 4006 voting stations with 128 of those placed in the high-risk category. Cele also visited Mpumalanga on Saturday, which was also identified as a high-risk province.

“These provinces have received additional SAPS officers ahead of the elections and not only that, law enforcement agencies including the SANDF will be working for hand in glove with police as force multipliers. The provinces have put together solid plans informed by intelligence-driven analysis and this gives me confidence that those plans will result in citizens casting their votes freely, with little to no disruptions,” he said.
He added that in areas where IEC officials are not able to perform their duties due to safety fears and threats from communities, police officers who have been trained by the Electoral Commission remain on standby to take over from these officers at voting stations.

“This is already the case in the Ugu district in KZN where election-related violence broke out and resulted in the injury of a police officer from a gunshot to the leg in Mistake Farm. While police will be on hand to ensure voting goes ahead as planned, they will not be letting their guard down in policing other crimes,” Cele said.

Meanwhile, the IEC has reassured voters that all Covid-19 safety protocols will be in place. Voting stations have been opened from 7 am and will close at 9 pm however, voters who are still in queues by 9 pm will not be turned away.

Photos: thin and sickly-looking BLF leader Andile Mngxitama shock SA

Photos: thin and sickly-looking BLF leader Andile Mngxitama shock SA

Black First Land First (BLF) leader Andile Mngxitama received numerous messages of support on social media on Sunday evening after making his first public appearance in months after struggling with an undisclosed illness.

It was immediately apparent that he had lost a great deal of weight, although reports suggest he is now on the mend, and he was smiling in videos and photographs on Sunday.

In a public appearance with his supporters, he thanked party members for continuing with BLF work while he was recovering.

The Citizen understands Mngxitama opted to keep his poor health status confidential while he was ill, but people close to him have said that he nearly died.

The BLF will be contesting some municipalities in the local government elections on Monday, but its campaign was very low-key due to the long absence of its outspoken, controversial leader whose party was deregistered for a time due to its refusal to allow white people to be members.

Mngxitama has long courted controversy for his hardcore stance that only black people should be considered the rightful owners of land and other resources in South Africa. He was previously a senior member of the EFF and a member of parliament but had a very public fallout with the party and its leader Julius Malema in 2015. He and a group of other EFF dissidents were expelled.

Shortly before his disappearance from public life in about June 2021, Mngxitama was advocating passionately against Covid-19 vaccinations, having previously publicized the myth that the disease is caused by 5G cellphone towers.

The BLF contested its first elections during national and provincial elections in 2019 but failed to win a seat. Mngxitama accused the IEC of not capturing their votes accurately, saying after the results were declared: “We reject these elections … we were robbed. In many instances, results from their voting districts where 50 of our comrades voted say BLF came out with zero votes. A lot of our votes were stolen.”

Elections officer investigated for allegedly stuffing marked ballots in ballot box

Elections officer investigated for allegedly stuffing marked ballots in ballot box

The Electoral Commission of South Africa in KwaZulu-Natal has roped in the police to investigate allegations that one of its presiding officers was on Sunday allegedly caught committing electoral fraud.

According to the commission in the province, the unnamed presiding officer was allegedly caught stuffing marked ballots into a ballot box.

It was not immediately clear which party the officer was trying to aid by committing the alleged offense and whether he has been relieved of his or her crucial role.

“In Ward 93, Kusakusa Primary School, in Mbumbulu area in eThekwini Metro Municipality, a presiding officer was allegedly discovered by party agents, stuffing marked ballot papers into a ballot box. This remains an allegation and SAPS is still investigating. Members of the media will be updated as soon as the full report is received from SAPS,” the commission said yesterday.

The first electoral official to be convicted (for five years) for electoral fraud post-1994 was Sindisiwe Ncube of Ulundi. In the 2009 general elections, Ncube was allegedly caught stuffing marked ballots and the ballots were allegedly in favor of the IFP.

Meanwhile, the commission in the province said despite challenges in undone (Mzinto) municipality in the south of the province and Mkhambathini (Camperdown), most stations opened on time yesterday (Sun).

“The majority of voting stations were opened on time. The Mkhambathini Municipality matter was reported yesterday (Saturday) where seven voting stations did not open due to a traditional leadership dispute in the KwaNyavu Traditional Authority area, covering Ward 2, 3, and 5. The commission reported that voting stations are operating today under close monitoring by the SAPS.

“SAPS have reinforced their presence in the area and operations in voting stations have resumed,” the commission said. In the volatile undone municipality, the commission said due to unrest in the area, some voting stations were not opened at all.

“The situation in undone Municipality, where the commission reported that two of the five voting stations in ward six did not open at all because of community unrest in the area, these remain closed as SAPS attempts to restore stability in the area.

“A total of 36 home visits are yet to be administered in the area. The most affected voting station is Isulabasha Combined Primary School in Ward 6. The commission remains hopeful that voting station officers will be able to visit all homes that need to be visited to conduct special votes. Voting station staff that have completed their assigned special votes are being redirected in areas with pending home visits.”

In the 2019 general elections, undone was a violent hot spot as the community of Stick Farm closed voting stations and prevented electoral officials from accessing them. When armed police eventually restored calm, the community boycotted the elections, opting not to vote, saying their area remains underdeveloped yet they have been voting since 1994.

In anticipation of disruptions and unrest, on Monday the Police Minister Bheki Cele announced that more than18 000 police officers have been deployed across the province, with the focus on hot spot areas like eThekwini, Nongoma, Ulundi, KwaDukuza (Stanger), and Newcastle.

Cele, who was speaking in Durban when deploying the SAPS battalion, said out of the 272 identified hot spots in the entire country, a majority of them are in KwaZulu-Natal, hence the special focus.

He said in areas like KwaDukuza and eThekwini, some councilor candidates have survived assassination attempts while other candidates are in hiding, fearing for their lives.

Cele said the SAPS officers should be ready to remove any threat that could impede the voting process. He was emphatic to the police that their role was to assist the commission to stage free, fair, and credible elections and not to take over the process. Cele stressed that while South Africans have a right to protest any time they wanted to, they must not block those who wanted to vote or block police stations and if that happened, the police should intervene.

Good news to all Sassa recipients: new grant proposed

Good news to all Sassa recipients: new grant proposed

Minister of Finance Enoch Godongwana will recommend that the Covid-19 social alleviation of pain award be ended and supplanted with a ‘family award’, the City Press reports.

The new award, set to be laid out in Godongwana’s first medium-term financial plan strategy articulation (MTBPS) on 11 November, would just be given to the top of a family rather than people.

Notwithstanding, the execution of this new award is accounted for to be a disputed matter among Godongwana and president Cyril Ramaphosa, as it would bar the majority of the people who presently fit the bill for the R350 social alleviation of trouble award – a brief arrangement of help planned for people in such a desperate material needs that they can’t meet their families’ most fundamental requirements.

An expected 9,000,000 South Africans as of now gather the award, which the president as of late reached out until March 2022. While another family award would essentially diminish the strain on the fiscus, it would likewise hazard distancing an enormous part of Ramaphosa’s citizen base who might presently don’t straightforwardly benefit.

The proposed family award is examined in the accompanying government record unveiled by GroundUp. It is named “Draft against neediness technique (condensed rendition)” and it is dated September 2021.

GroundUp noticed that the family award would just be presented to 1,000,000 families in the main year, progressively expanding every year by an extra 1,000,000 families.

The archive, it noted, depicts the family award as the “best both according to an effect viewpoint as it annihilates outrageous neediness, just as an effectiveness viewpoint”.

“South Africa’s vision is to kill outrageous destitution by 2030, which implies that nobody ought to live on not exactly the food neediness line of R624 each month for (2021/22),” the record said.

Referring to Stats SA information, it calls attention to that 25% of the populace live beneath the food destitution line of R561 per individual each month, while 40% live underneath the lower-bound neediness line of

R810, and a further 55% live underneath the upper-bound neediness line of R1,227.

Common society associations have denounced the proposition, saying it would leave a great many jobless individuals more regrettable off than they were previously.

Joblessness and awards

South Africa’s government assistance program has been hailed as the absolute most critical accomplishment of the post-politically-sanctioned racial segregation government in decreasing pay and abundance disparity, which by the by stays the world’s most elevated.

Joblessness is at a record of over 34% because of the Covid-19 pandemic, with very nearly four out of five individuals matured between 18-24 without work.

Information distributed by the World Bank in September shows that 33% of South Africans are recipients of a social award straightforwardly, which ascends to near 66% when the individuals who advantage in a roundabout way are incorporated. The World Bank suggests the fundamental pay award appear as a “jobseekers’ award, designated at the jobless.

It said that a task searchers award, set at R350 per month, could cost R16.2 billion rand a year.

“The difficulty of things to come of South Africa’s social help framework rests in the contradicting pull of these two powers: The restricted political hunger for cost-saving changes and the need to unite consumptions,” the World Bank said. “Achievable choices for more extensive change subsequently need to adjust political will and the need to contain costs.”
