According to data from Forbes’ real-time ranking of billionaires, South Africa’s richest people continued to grow their wealth in 2020, despite falling behind their international counterparts.

Nicky Oppenheimer, Johann Rupert, and Patrice Motsepe all saw an increase in their net worth when compared to the same time last year.

From the photo above we can see that these are the three richest men in south Africa. In this article, we will be looking at some of their children.

 

Nicky Oppenheimer

He married Orcillia “Strilli” Lasch, the daughter of industrialist Helli Lasch, in 1968; both are Anglican. His father was raised Jewish but later converted to Anglicanism. They have a son named Jonathan Oppenheimer.

Oppenheimer Partners was founded by Jonathan Oppenheimer.

Jonathan is a philanthropist and businessman from South Africa. He began his career at NM Rothschild & Sons before moving on to Anglo American and, later, De Beers, where he held several senior management positions in Southern Africa and London for more than two decades.

Jonathan founded Oppenheimer Partners in 2016 with the goal of building a long-term investment group that spans the primary pillars and sectors of key markets.

Johann Rupert

Rupert grew up in Stellenbosch and went to Paul Roos Gymnasium and the University of Stellenbosch, where he studied economics and company law. He dropped out of university to pursue a business career, but the university awarded him an honorary doctorate in Economics in 2004.

Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University bestowed upon him an honorary doctorate in Commerce in 2008.

Rupert is described as “reclusive” by the Financial Times and Barron’s, and he avoids public appearances and interviews. In 2006, the same newspaper dubbed him “Rupert the Bear” for correctly predicting a global economic crisis.

Remember Judge Mnguni Who Handled Zuma’s State Of Arrest Case? He Has Died

On the 6th of July, following the Constitutional Court’s ruling to send Jacob Zuma to prison, Advocate Dali Mpofu took the matter to the Pietermaritzburg High Court in hopes to get Zuma’s stay of the arrest.

Mpofu was delaying the matter up until July 12th, wherein the recission or reconsideration of Zuma’s appeal was to be heard by the Constitutional Court.

Judge Bhekisisa Mnguni, who seemed to be favoring Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi over Mpofu, kept telling Mpofu that he does not have the jurisdiction to overturn the Constitutional Court’s ruling and asked why Zuma was not approaching the Constitutional Court to stop his arrest.

He decided not to dismiss the application at first hindrance but reserved his judgment, regardless of it is urgent. This meant that the Constitutional Court order was standing and that Zuma had no choice but to hand himself over to the police the following day. Thereafter, Mnguni ruled against him.

It has now been reported that Mnguni has passed away. Judge President Achmat Jappie has confirmed the news and says that Judge Mnguni was admitted to the hospital following a short illness but sadly passed away this morning.

The devastating news has shocked people and tributes are pouring in for the late judge as South Africans celebrate his life. He will be remembered for his contribution to South Africa’s judiciary system.

May his dear soul rest in perfect peace. We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

Ra is a South African traditional healer who is famously known for consulting via Twitter and he has proven himself several times that he is indeed a real traditional healer and he works wonders.

A few months ago Ra predicted that the former president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma will be arrested and there will be unrest in South Africa, which did happen, with that being said, everything that Ra says people take it seriously.

Earlier today, Ra took to Twitter to warn Malema about the storm that is coming his way and he prayed that Malema remains strong because it is about to get ugly “Baba Julius Malema you my elder and I respect all my elders. Something is coming for you am asking you to be very strong for the day to come. Don’t bend whatever they do to you. Your endurance will be rewarded by the ancestors of South Africa” said Ra.People are now worried sick about Malema and his well-being after this traditional healer said this “Can someone please assist” said a Worried Twitter user. Some Twitter users are assuming that someone wants Malema behind bars “They want to have him behind bars?” Asked a curious Twitter user.

Pray for Generations The Legacy’s actress_ she is fighting for her life in hospital

Another South Africa’s talented actress has landed in hospital following Thembisa Nxumalo who was in hospital for a long time battling against the deadly virus being Covid-19.

Zola Nombona is a South African actress who recently hosted the Royal Soapie Awards Nominees announcement early this month whereby many local shows became nominees. She is known for appearing on Generations The Legacy as Pamela who is a journalist and wife to Siyanda. Zola is currently not doing well but atleast it has nothing to do with the deadly Covid-19 that continues to claim the lives of talented actors and actresses of Mzansi. She is currently in hospital fighting for her life.

Nombona was admitted to a hospital after she suffered a health scare which according to what she has revealed was caused by overworking herself and not getting enough rest.

Zola revealed to the public on her not being well on social media. She posted her picture while on a hospital bed on her Instagram stories and said “Sometimes life reminds us that we are mere mortals. Remember to be kind to yours selves. Fatigue/burnout is a real thing”.

Nombona who hails from Umtata in Eastern Cape this year bagged a role on Generations The Legacy which demands her to be always on set as the entertainment industry is one of the busy industries while she is a recent mother who still has to focus on her child.

Motherhood also comes with a lot as days are not the same and children are like weather changing each and everyday requiring a lot especially from a mother. Zola is clearly not coping with her two roles including other projects that she gets busy with and definitely needs help as that has shown that it is a danger to her health.

A learner dropped a trending script on Twitter that made many people see that some teachers in school encouraging our kids to work too much with what they write on the script. This is a good thing because there is no one that would like to see the kids failing at school while they have taken them there to learn. In other words, teachers should make sure that they Force those kids to learn because it might be that they are not serious. This is the teacher who was on that script really knows how to treat it and so many people are happy for him.

So many people are reacting because they have never seen such things happening to their kids like that. It has been said that some teachers I just never mind us, and they would make sure that if our kids fail they don’t really do something to help them. That’s why you find most kids in schools failing and when you asked they telling you that they are playing well they are the ones that should get them not to play during school time. The teacher must be credited a lot because he did something that people didn’t think of.

Some of the things that are happening in schools should be checked by the teachers because they are other parents that should be kept cool. But it looks like things have changed this nowadays because you’d find a student busy arguing with a teacher about something that he doesn’t even know. That’s why most teachers just relaxing when those kids are disrespecting them sometimes in schools, and they should stop with what they are doing because they might fail a lot. It has been said that most kids are failing because of all of that, and they are right because there is no teacher that would write that on your script while you are not working properly with them.

The looting was an unprecedented occurrence which shocked many people across the world including investors. The government has since reintroduced the R350 social relief grant to those who are not receiving any formal income.

The R350 grant was also extended to the care givers who were excluded in the past. This will without a doubt bring much needed relief to those living below the poverty line.

Gambling is dangerous and people should not pin their hopes on it. It can disappoint you and take away the little money you have for essentials.
