Most South Africans expected the third wave to be over by this time which is mid-August but it seems as if the opposite is happening.

The third wave was at its peak in July and as a result, South Africa moved to lockdown alert level 4 to curb the curve of infections.

Indeed, the tries were a success as the numbers dropped towards the end of July leading President Cyril Ramaphosa and the entire cabinet to decide on taking the lockdown level back to alert level 3.

However, the most Unfortunate news this Saturday morning is that the recent covid-19 statistics are showing another rise in the number of infections which could result in a longer third wave.

 

If the third wave lasts longer, it means that more people are yet to die or get infected with the virus before the fourth wave comes.

The recent covid-19 statistics were revealed by the department of health and the numbers are now higher since the lockdown was moved down to level 3.
