A FAMILY of a University of KwaZulu-Natal student, drowning in a swimming pool in a temporary detention center, has questions for the university to answer about the death that has taken place.

Siphesihle Masuku (18), originally from Pongola, drowned in the Mariannhill area on Sunday.

University of KwaZulu-Natal student Siphesihle Masuku drowned on Sunday in a student residence.

He was doing his first year of teacher training at the Edgewood Campus.

He was allegedly swimming with other students when he drowned after entering a deep spot.

It is said that while in the deep, he was unlucky enough to find someone to rescue him.

His mother, Thulebona Nyawo, said last week his son had told him they had been evacuated from the student residence inside Edgewood and would be relocated to the area where he eventually died.

She said the deceased told her that the center had told them he was evicting them from the student residence because there was no place.

“Surprisingly, after the incident on Sunday, the students who had been living with him at the scene of the drowning were taken back to the interior of Edgewood where they were initially evacuated. Our question is why they were evicted in the first place when the area is now and again, ”said Nyawo.

A student who was present at the scene, who asked not to be named, also blamed the university for the incident.

We have said that if the university had placed them in ordinary student residences, there would have been no drowning students.

“Apart from Sphe’s drowning, it was already unsafe for us to live in this area because it does not even have security guards. Which means there are a lot of things that could have put our lives in danger, ”said the student.

Edgewood Student Representative Council (SRC) chairman Mkhontowesizwe Gina said the university was showing a complete lack of concern for students.

He said this was because all the students who have been inducted are doing their first year and have been accepted by the university.

“She was able to accept them but when she had to give them accommodation she said she did not have them. We ask ourselves and answer where they say they live, ”said Gina.

He said the more than 300 students started sleeping at the Edgewood gate for a few days.

“Realizing that this posed a threat to their lives, we temporarily relocated them to a student residence within Edgewood. But they used to stock up every morning with all their luggage because the places we put them in had their owners doing second, third and fourth year, as long as they didn’t come back, they were still at home, ”said Gina.

He said this was a temporary attempt because they saw the situation getting out of hand when students were forced to sleep at the entrance to the institution.

He said the university had even decided to relocate them to places such as the one where She died because the SRC had asked him what he would say in the case of a student who died at the gate.

“The university is one thing to do, it is to open official dormitories that it chose to close last year because it says it has no money. That is the only solution, ”said Gina.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokeswoman Colonel Thembeka Mbele said a death docket had been opened at Pinetown police station.

University of KwaZulu-Natal spokeswoman Normah Zondo said as previously explained, the university dormitories were all overcrowded.

“The university has planned to accommodate 20,503 students this year,” said Ms. Zondo.

He said more than 5 000 students would be studying for the first time at the university and would be accommodated in the student residences.

He said the university’s internal security unit, Risk Management Services, and the police, we’re investigating the incident together.

He said the family of the deceased would be given the support they needed and even students who witnessed the incident, would continue to receive psychological counseling.

He said they had been removed from the residence where the incident took place, to be housed in rooms for registered students who had not yet arrived

Lady Kills herself after failing to find job 2 years after graduation

Lady committed suicide two years after graduating from university, purportedly due to his inability to find work.

Brian Wanaka, a resident of Ntinda, graduated from Kyambogo University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering but was unable to find gainful employment.

As a result, she returned to her former lecture room at Kyambogo university and committed suicide, according to Luke Owoyesigyire, spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police.

We take allegedly committed suicide last Friday around 8 a.m. in the Engineering Building at Kyambogo University.

“The police were notified of the event by the building’s private security guard, and cops responded,”

The dead’s body was sent to the Mulago city mortuary for a postmortem examination, while the police forensics team examined an alleged suicide note left behind by the deceased prior to his death.

“Through the efforts of our scene of crime detectives, we were also able to collect a suspected suicide note that read, ‘I have decided to terminate my life due to stress.’ It has been displayed and is being analyzed by our experts,” Owoyesigyire added.

Well, it is not like any of us is immortal. Sooner or later, we are all going to die. Covid-19 vaccination is reaching a serious dilemma.

Notwithstanding that the vaccine does not make one immune, but puts one at a lesser risk of serious illnesses or rather Covid-19 symptoms.

Yes, there are a lot of dynamics to this, to name one, or two, immune systems differ from person to person. One has a strong one and the other a compromised one. It’s complicated and the superpowers are not even making this simpler hence the masses continue to reject vaccines.

Many vaccinated after rigorous, critical thinking, research and reading, information overload, crushed and rebooted, and then made a well-informed decision.

It is unfortunate that Prince Benz was involved in a terrible car accident late yesterday with his latest SUV. The good news is that he wasn’t badly injured, although the car rolled a couple of times. He came out of it healthy with minor scratches. See photos of the accident below:

Prayers for the musician after what revealed about his health

The Sengiqomile hitmaker is living in fear as he is suffering from kidney disease.

He revealed that he started being sick in 2019.

“Each time I start running, I would experience pain in my back but I didn’t pay much attention. I was walking normal and didn’t tell anyone because I thought it’s something that will pass.”

Njoku stated that after some time as the pain grew, he went on to see doctors who confirmed that he has kidney issues.

The musician then requested the public to pray for him.

Other celebrities who died of kidneys include Sfiso Ncwane, actor, Menzi Ngubane, Nobesuthu Mbadu of Mahotella Queens, and Barry White.

Somizi Mourns A Loved One And Reveals The Plans They Had For Easter Holidays: Condolences

Somizi’s personality is so unmatched, and he continues to surprise people day in day out. With Somizi you can never really confirm what he will do next. He is full of life, gratitude, and always has a thing of seeing the best in people.

One of the gigs he had early this year was in Limpopo, Venda. Somizi was dressed so dramatically, as he always does. He went on to host the show that he was supposed to host and posted videos whilst at it.

The following day he posted a video of himself in a luxurious house. He explained in the caption what exactly happened. He says on his way back from the event, he saw a house that matched his personality so well. The cars even matched his dressing code. So he went in and knocked. Somizi says he introduced himself because he doesn’t assume everyone knows him.

Some said the woman of the house luckily recognized him, which was a plus. He said he asked to see the husband, and asked both of them could take pictures, which they agreed to. They took pictures together, and he posted on his Instagram.

The man reportedly died in the early hours of this morning due to an accident. Those who were fond of him are saddened about his passing. May his soul rest in peace.

Some took to Instagram to talk about how the two of them had become friends since the day they took pictures together. He says they were even planning on spending Easter holidays at Venda, at his new friend’s house. Condolences messages have since been pouring onto Somizi’s Instagram.
