Background

Many South Africans have come to believe that there is a certain age that people must be in order to complete high school. This is part of the reason why there are many high school dropouts because they think that they are to old to actually finish. One woman however has called against All odds and decided to finish her matric at a very late age of 31. This is one of the very first times it has. Even documented that a 31-year-old full student completed matric.

Report

A 31 year old by the name of Slindile Cele has just shocked the nation after completing her matric with a bachelor’s degree. It is said that she first wasn’t matric back in 2006 when she was 17. She, unfortunately, failed the grade and had to go out and try to fend for herself.

She then realise how important education was when she was working as a maid or domestic work. She started saving money so that she could go back to school. In 2020 she decided to go back to grade 11 and two years later she passed her matric. She had to save money for rent, uniform, and transport money just to make sure that she goes through the 2 years easily.

Opinion

It is now seen by many people that there is no such in the age that you can complete your matric. People who realize that they are missing their head start in life which is a grade 12 completion need to go back to school as soon as they can. Now, this 21-year-old woman has a bright future ahead of her because she decided to take the hardest decision and go back to school.

“I am humbled by the support and love that you have been giving us. Patrick behaved like a child and my job was to ground him. Tears: Zoleka Mandela Mourns Death Of Her Baby

Zoleka Mandela has noted how much of an over-sharer she is but she does not mind as it could be part of her healing process. The author and expectant mother took to her social media to open up about the loss of her daughter Zenani, 11 years ago, when she was only 13 years old.

Although this pregnancy is her last, Zoleka is a proud mother of 6 children. She shared a past session with her therapist and how it went. Her therapist asked her to list things she is most grateful but she could not put a number on her gratitude.

“Beloved Queens, remember when I told you that I literally, always have something to be grateful for each day? A few months back my therapist asked me to write down things I’m grateful for, during the time I had plunged into depression again … I have over 40 things to be grateful for on the list I compiled a while ago – the list is actually endless (with each day that passes, I’m grateful for the frequent blessings – both big and small.):

Zenani was killed by a drunk driver 11 years ago and her then psychiatrist advised her to read Habakkuk. She said she struggled to find those answers all those years, until now!

“As I walked into the kitchen to make breakfast, I looked at these set of cards I had stopped reading since my last depressive episode last year (cards I typically shuffled for each day for motivation – having stopped praying the day my grandmother passed away) and there it was … Habakkuk ( hadn’t even begun shuffling)!!!

“Eleven years later and it’s starting to make sense!!! I Googled it today, and this is what is says, “This metaphoric language describes the blessings the presence of God brings to a situation. A well-known book by this title explores the journey of a person who learns to overcome fear and suffering like a deer leaping over obstacles … When we run with hinds’ feet on high places, treading “on the heights,” we live above our circumstances,” she shared.

Zoleka is a motivational person herself so she shared what her take on this is, “God gives us the grace, courage, and inner strength we need to press on to attain new heights and experience new vistas.”. I honestly can’t make this stuff up. What I can do, is continue to pray and believe in Him as often as I do now … and stay grateful that I can face my entire existence (no matter what life continues to throw at me), boldly in whatever He wants for me, in whatever He has called me to do.”

Zoleka made headlines before when she told people she does not need a man in her life. The doting mother of 6 said people should not pity her but should rather applaud her for taking such decisions.

“I also don’t want a man in my life because the moment I fall in love, weight gain, and pregnancy same time, my n*gga!!! I just don’t know how I’m going to cope without the sexual benefits of having a man because I don’t want the relationship per se, but I want the part where he comes over when I tell him to … without him spending the night, without him being with anyone else or bothering me with feelings because that’s just not in my DNA anymore!!!”
