A 3-year-old girl has died while a 7-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after a three-vehicle collision on the N3 in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday.

ALS spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said the crash occurred just before 1 pm on the N3 westbound freeway, just after the Mariannhill Toll Plaza.

He said a truck, a bakkie, and a light motor vehicle had collided on the roadway.

“Two children aged 3 and 7, believed to be in the rear of the bakkie, sustained critical injuries and were stabilized at the scene by advanced life support paramedics before the Netcare 911 aeromedical helicopter was activated to airlift the one child to the hospital for the urgent medical treatment that she required,” he said.

Jamieson said the second child was loaded into a waiting ambulance and rushed to the hospital for the treatment he required.

Jamieson later confirmed that the girl had succumbed to her injuries.

On Monday, one person was seriously injured in a crash in Umbilo.

ALS Paramedics Medical Services arrived to find that a truck and a light motor vehicle had collided in the intersection before the truck lost control and crashed into a wall.

Jamieson said a man in his forties was found to be trapped in the vehicle and had sustained serious injuries. He was stabilized at the scene by advanced life support paramedics while the Durban Fire Department used the jaws of life to cut him free from the wreckage.

He said once freed, the patient was taken to a nearby Durban hospital.

Generations The Legacy star Yonda Thomas who plays the role of journalist Lelethu Malinga is officially off the market after engaging with lover medical doctor Mumtaaz Emeran.Yonda Thomas

She is a medical doctor born and bred in Umtata, Cape Town, a place she described as “where dreams are hard to get fulfilled.” She had her firstborn son at the early age of fifteen and got disowned by her father. Mumtaaz enrolled at Wits University to study medicine, taking breaks between her academic period to work and raising school fees. Yonda Thomas1

Everything worked according to plan until she found a sponsor (a Trust Foundation) who promised to pay her school fees; unfortunately, the Foundation lost money and failed to meet the school fees obligation. By the time Mumtaaz finished school, she had already accumulated R500 000 in tuition debt.

Wits advised her to raise R500 000 and pay the fees in 24 hours to graduate; hence, she turned to Instagram for donations. Mumtaaz Emeran

South Africans came in their numbers to the rescue and helped yet another ambitious youth to make her dream come true and enable her to start working at Chris Hani Hospital.

On the donations, Mumtaaz Emeran revealed that she managed to get over R500 000 and plans to channel the rest towards a foundation targeting vulnerable children to pay their school fees.

“When I go to work, I will give my all-knowing that these people made me the doctor I am; without their donations, I wouldn’t be here.”

Yonda Thomas joins Generations The Legacy cast to play the role of Lelethu Malinga, a journalist and direct replacement for Siyanda Khoza – the role played by Kay Sibiya.

He is the troublesome brother to Detective Dali Malinga, who endangers his life to play undercover in dangerous operations to expose them. An award-winning journalist who is good with words and charms women.

Australia records first Omicron death, authorities stick to the reopening plan

Australia records first Omicron death, authorities stick to the reopening plan

Australia reported its first confirmed death from the new Omicron variant of COVID-19 on Monday amid its biggest daily surge in infections, but the authorities refrained from imposing new restrictions saying hospitalization rates remained low.

The death, a man in his 80s with underlying health conditions, marked a grim milestone for the country which has had to reverse some parts of a staged reopening after nearly two years of stop-start lockdowns, due to the fresh outbreak.

Omicron, which health experts say appears more contagious but less virulent than previous strains, began to spread in the country just as it lifted restrictions on most domestic borders and allowed Australians to return from overseas without quarantine, driving case numbers to the highest of the pandemic.

The authorities gave no additional details about the Omicron death, except to say that the man caught the virus at an aged care facility and died in a Sydney hospital. This was the first known death in New South Wales (state) linked to the Omicron variant of concern,” said NSW Health epidemiologist Christine Selvey in a video released by the government.

The man was among seven COVID-19 deaths reported in Australia the previous day. The country clocked 10,186 new cases nationwide, according to a Reuters calculation of state data, its first total over 10,000 since the start of the pandemic. Most new cases were in NSW and Victoria.

“Although we are seeing increased case numbers… we are not seeing the impacts on our hospital system,” said Annastacia Palaszczuk, premier of Queensland which reported 784 new cases with four people in hospital.

With reports of six-hour wait times for COVID testing for people hoping to meet requirements for interstate holiday travel, Palaszczuk defended the tourism-friendly state for mandatory testing, saying “everyone knew when they booked a ticket that if they wanted to come here they would have to do a PCR test”.

However, she added that Queensland was considering whether to relax testing requirements for domestic visitors. Tasmania, another tourist-popular state, also said it was considering changes to state border testing rules.

Around the country, the surge in infections meanwhile weighed on testing resources. Sydney testing clinic SydPath had confirmed a day earlier that it wrongly told 400 COVID-positive people they were negative in the days before Christmas; on Monday it now realized it sent wrong result messages to another 995 people.

Australian authorities have so far resisted a return to lockdown in the face of surging case numbers but have reinstated some restrictions. On Monday, NSW again made it compulsory to check into public venues with QR codes, while many states have brought back mandatory mask-wearing in indoor public places.

The country has also narrowed the window for vaccine booster shots from six months to four months, soon to be three months.

Kanye West Buys House Across the Street from Kim Kardashian

Kanye West Buys House Across the Street from Kim Kardashian

When Kanye West is struck by inspiration, he tends to quickly follow through with action. Last month, while donating Thanksgiving meals to the L.A. Mission, West got on the horn for a surprise announcement to the local crowd — saying he planned to “get his family back together” and rekindle a relationship with estranged wife Kim Kardashian. The fashion mogul added that if he couldn’t live “in the house” with his family, he would buy “the home right next door” to Kardashian.

Turns out West wasn’t just whistling Dixie. Though he’s already got a new $57.3 million Malibu mansion about 30 minutes (by car) from Kardashian’s vast Hidden Hills estate — and though she apparently has not wavered from wanting a divorce — West wishes to remain closed at hand. And so he’s dropped another $4.5 million on a relatively modest Hidden Hills estate, one that happens to lie directly across the street from the ex-Kimye compound.

From here, the 44-year-old will presumably be able to keep a watchful eye on Kardashian’s doings.
Given West’s status as an architectural tastemaker — his Malibu home was curated by legendary Japanese designer Tadao Ando and his former Hollywood Hills digs are a study in aggressive minimalism — he’ll almost certainly give the place a gut rehab before a move-in date can be set.

But none of that seemed to matter much. West really, really wanted the place — and he paid a whopping $421,000 over the sellers’ asking price to secure the deed.

Still, given its age, the property appears well-maintained. The big front lawn was recently replaced with drought-resistant AstroTurf — a good thing for the water bill, given that the San Fernando Valley’s scorching summer temperatures can top 110 degrees. The existing kitchen was remodeled in 2005 and includes a spacious island, granite countertops, and some generic-looking white ovens, and a white dishwasher. (Blessedly, there are no dreaded white refrigerators on the premises.

Cyan Boujee was beaten up and kicked out of the club in Mamelodi: WATCH

Cyan Boujee was beaten up and kicked out of the club in Mamelodi: WATCH

She has been trending of late after viral video flooded social media. Celebrated YouTuber and Influencer Cyan Boujee, born Honour Zuma, is making all sorts of headlines after she alleges that she was assaulted by the owner of Corner Butcher in Mamelodi.

Well, it seems as if the Corner Butcher is saying otherwise in the mix of things. According to its official media pages, Corner Butcher has it that Cyan Boujee was never assaulted but rather kicked out from the venue.

Sources have it that the YouTuber was involved in a scuffle with other ladies, and given that she was faulty, the owners were forced to kick her out. Their response comes barely a few hours after Cyan Boujee made claims that she was physically abused for no apparent reason whilst at Corner Butcher.

However, it seems as if Boujee is more than a drama queen. This is the second time she has apparently hogged headlines with club brawls. In August it was reported that she attacked fellow influencer Tshigofatso Modisane whilst in a club. A few months ago, she saw herself trending after she went on after Beverly Tlhako implicating her in a love triangle with DJ Maphorisa.

Twitter was set ablaze, and Mzansi weighed into the matter with its two cents. Wonders never cease to amaze in the backdrop of her Twitter wars with fellow influencers over DJ Phori. The celebrated DJ was threatened with cancellation in the backdrop of the Tlhako and Boujee Twitter wars.

Not so long ago, she was blue ticked by Blaq Diamond’s Ndu Browns after she posted a series of pictures and videos on his birthday. She shared a video with Ndu Brown and capped it “Happy Birthday Soka Lam”.

It seems as if Ndu was not taking any of it and let it slide without comment. The two have been rumoured to be dating of late. However, neither Ndu nor Boujee has publicly confirmed or denied the dating rumour. The bubbly personality who doubles as make-up and content creator was born on 25 August 2001 in South Africa.

She started her career with make-up tutorials before monetising her content on social media platforms. However, she also happens to be an ambassador for several sneaker lines, including Umbro and Puma.

Watch the video below of Cyan Boujee being kicked out by the club owner:
