Thabo “Tsiki-Tsiki” Mooki turns 48 | His first name revealed

Kaizer Chiefs legend Thabo “Tsiki Tsiki” Mooki who spent his entire career at the club is celebrating his 48th birthday on Saturday, 22 October, as he was born on this day in 1974 in Moletsane, Soweto.

The product of the Kaizer Chiefs Development Academy became synonymous with the squad number 12 which he wore at club and even the name Thabo which is actually not his first name despite always using it.

This phenomenon is quite common when it comes to these upper echelons in the industry as it is a preferrial thing and Thabo Mooki is not the first or the last.

What’s the story?

The 2002 African Cup Winner’s Cup winner with Kaizer Chiefs actually bares the first name Lawrence and Thabo is actually his middle name.

The former Kaizer Chiefs central midfielder was presumably given the first name Lawrence by his parents during the time of his birth.

In other news…

On Saturday, former Kaizer Chiefs left winger George Lebese who is currently unattached took to his Instagram stories to celebrate the 48th birthday of Thabo Mooki.

The 32 year old Mamelodi born footballer took to the popular platform where he shared a rare photo of the football legend post his playing days. As part of this caption, the former Kaizer Chiefs jersey number 17 wrote, “Happy birthday grootmaan, more life to you”.
