Police are looking for this man who stabbed a 23 years old woman to death.

Police are looking for Bongani Sanele Mlambo, for killing a student in Mangosuthu.

Police at the Point station are searching for a man suspected of stabbing and killing a student in Mangosuthu.

Mr. Bongani Sanele Mlambo (28), disappeared after the stabbing incident. Xolile Mbatha (23) was killed, in a residential area for students on Mahatma Gandhi road.

“This student was found with multiple stab wounds on her body and was identified as dead at the scene,” explained Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala, spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal police.

The country reported on an incident two weeks ago where it was revealed that the deceased and the suspect had an argument that ended in the death of the deceased.

The spokesperson of the EFFSC in the province, Mr. Yaya Mnikwa, said that this is an indication that security has not been properly strengthened in the areas where students live.

“The reports received are that the male student did not live in this area but he was able to hack the phone and went inside with a knife and stabbed the woman. We at the EFFSC are always encouraging security to be strengthened in student accommodation to avoid situations like this,” Mnikwa said.

Police say a warrant has been issued for Mlambo’s arrest. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Xulu on 031 367 4012/ 082 720 9592 or call Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
