‘New Chapter’: Siya Kolisi announces he is relocating to France

Professional rugby player Siya Kolisi announced that he would be leaving South Africa after the 2023 Rugby World Cup and relocating to Europe with his family. Kolisi released a statement which was shared on his Twitter account. In the declaration, he thanked his supporters and said he was not a self-made man.

WHY IS SIYA KOLISI RELOCATING TO FRANCE?
The South-African born European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) captain said with the collaboration of the sharks and a French ruby club, he was afforded an opportunity to join the French rugby club, Racing 92.

In his statement Kolisi said,

“Not many athletes get the chance to write the chapters of their respective story, and I view this new challenge in France as an opportunity to do this.”

SIYA KOLISI SENDS MESSAGE TO THE SHARKS BEFORE LEAVING THE SOUTH AFRICAN RUGBY TEAM
Kolisi thanked the Sharks for welcoming him with open arms in 2021. He promised his teammates that he would continue to give his best in the remaining months with them before the leaving his fellow team members.

“I am so appreciative that the sharks have given me their blessing to make this move, and it goes without saying that I will continue to give my all for the team over the next few months,” Kolisi vowed.

KOLISI SHARES HIS EXCITEMENT ABOUT PLAYING FOR RACING 92 RUGBY CLUB IN EUROPE
The flanker player expressed his gratitude for the new opportunity oversees. He expressed his enthusiasm to be starting a new chapter abroad and said,

“I am equally excited to be joining Racing 92 later this year. It’s a visionary club that I have always greatly admired, and I would like to thank all the role players at Racing 92 for recognising my potential and contributing towards making this next journey possible.”

KOLISI PENS HEARTFELT MESSAGE TO RACHEL FOR HER AMAZING SUPPORT SHOWN THROUGHOUT HIS CAREER
The rugby player shared that the new role would allow for him to be more present at home with his family. He thanked his wife Rachel for holding the house down when he was occupied with representing Mzansi.

He added that she was an incredible wife and acknowledged that her sacrifices were not gone unnoticed.

“Rachel and the kids have scarifies so much throughout my career, and I am immeasurably grateful for this…

The move to Racing 92 will enable me to spend more time with my family, which is something that I have longed for, and this prospect certainly played a significant part in my decision making,” Kolisi concluded.
