Over the last two days, the whole country of South Africa has been experiencing very heavy rains. These rains have been going on in different provinces including Eastern Cape, Free State, Mpumalanga, and the Gauteng province. We have seen how many cars were stranded on the road due to floods but now an even bigger problem occurred when an inter Cape bus that was carrying many passengers got into trouble.

It has been reported that an inter Cape bus that was on its way to Pretoria has had trouble getting there. This happened on Saturday morning.

Below is what was reported:

“An Intercape bus, traveling from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape to Pretoria with 86 passengers on board got stuck on the R30 between Allanridge and Bothaville in the Free State on Saturday morning due to flooding.”

 

A shocking revelation was made when the police spokesperson was interviewed about the incident. During the interview, he revealed how the clear indication that the road was closed due to flooding but the driver of the bus decided to continue with the trip. This accident now turns out to have been caused by negligence.

Opinion

Those people who have relatives that were traveling using the bus need to check on them. The lucky thing is that none of them were injured but the bus is stuck there for quite some time. This means that those that are traveling using the bus will take a bit longer to get this means that those that are traveling using the bus will take a bit longer to get to their destination all because the driver refused to read the road signs.
