South Africa is calling for SABC news presenter to be cancelled after he made some comment live on national tv .He said that black people are beautiful but light people are more beautiful. This comment made a a lof of South Africans very angry and that’s why they are calling for him to be fired .

In the video the presenter was talking to two ladies who were standing up to colourism in the beauty industry. At the end of the discussion thats when he said that statement which has caused a lot of outrage throughtout South Africa to the extent that they want the news presenter fired and cancelled .

Some people think that he made an honest mistake and thats not what he meant to say .They believe that he should not be punished just because of a simple mistake .Well the mistake he made is something that could cost him his job and his whole career that he spent his whole life building.

But News readers usually read what is written on the screens for them .They usually read word for word what is on the screen .So its possible that it was not the fault of the News Presenter but of SABC who gave him a script to read in the first place .So having him cancelled because of a mistake made by the SABC.

 

Should he lose his job for this and be cancelled? Colourism is still a huge challenge in South Africa and its something that South Africans facs everyday.
