On Friday the entire community of Alex was shocked after an SAB truck that was parked on London Road got looted. This shows how much people from Alex love alcohol. They did not even care whether the consequences would be dire or not even if the law enforcement officers find them. What they just wanted was alcoholic beverages.

According to World Health Organisation, 3 million deaths every year result from worldwide harmful use of alcohol. This represents 5.3% of all deaths. In actual fact alcohol took so many people’s lives. The problem is that people don’t know how to limit. They drink more than their bodies could take. Most of us know that when you’re inebriated you don’t think straight. Alcohol makes it harder for the brain areas controlling balance, memory, speech, and judgment to do their jobs, resulting in a higher likelihood of injuries and other negative outcomes.

There other serious problem is looting. There is scarcity of jobs in South Africa, but does not imply that people should loot. It is bad for economy. The effect of the looting is evident on small and big businesses as well as the economy, increasing unemployment and making it difficult for businesses to recover from their losses. What Alex residents did was wrong. They were inconsiderate. The people who were driving the looted truck could lose their jobs because of what they did.

South Africans, let us not destroy, but help or uplift each other. We all need each other at the end of the day.

Zuma will realise crime does not pay ‘, Goolam says as he (Zuma) fails to go to Duarte funeral

The who’s who in the ruling party are currently attending Jessie Duarte’s funeral. Duarte passed away early on Sunday morning after an eight month battle with cancer. Former President Jacob Zuma is however not attending the funeral. Remember Zuma is out of prison on medical parole and some of the parole conditions prohibit him from attending gatherings. A die hard supporter of President Cyril Ramaphosa, Goolam has taken to Twitter to pick on Zuma for not being able to attend Duarte’s send off. “Jacob Zuma’s bail conditions does not allow him to attend the funeral of Jessie Duarte. Hopefully he will realise crime and disrespecting the courts does not pay”, Goolam said.

Zuma and Duarte had a very good working relationship. They worked together in the governing party’s Luthuli House for many years. At the moment, Zuma has conveyed heartfelt condolences to Duarte’s family. President Zuma says his relationship with Cde Jessie goes a long way. “A special tribute to reflect on their mutual respect and comradeship will soon be issued,” said Jacob Zuma Foundation spokesperson Mzwanele Manyi.

Goolam seems to be pleased by Zuma’s absence at the funeral. But the question is whether or not he(Zuma) would be interested in attending. Remember Jessie never went to Nkantla for advice or deliver anything since Jacob Zuma left. So he doesn’t like anyone who doesn’t glorify him. So I don’t think he’d want to attend.

But Duarte was very much loyal to Zuma. After Zuma was given parole by Arthur Fraser, she defended him. Duarte rejected assumptions that Zuma would behave llike Schabir Shaik, saying the ANC will be proven wrong if Zuma, among other things, is seen playing golf. “I think there are different circumstances to different situations. So if every situation is going to have a particular narrative, we are not going to allow ourselves to understand what the truth is and what isn’t,” said Duarte.

Cyril Ramaphosa has broken his silence On Stepping Down

If there’s one issue that is very serious at the moment In South Africa besides all other issues is the protest that is being launched to initiate the stepping down from power of President Cyril Ramaphosa.

There have been marches this week with calls for the president to step down gaining momentum after each day. The main reason those concerned feel he should step down are those who believe he should step down because of his involvement in the Phalaphala Farm scandal that made waves when it was reported in the news.

With people hoping that the President may succumb to pressure and end up handing in his resignation, Ramaphosa has come out to make it clear what he intents to do and it has nothing to do with stepping down as president, this even though the ruling party were given 48 hours from Friday to remove the President from power.

“I will not be intimidated and I will not be bullied into submission to step down as the president of the country and of the African National Congress. I am committed to rebuilding the economy of the country and I will not be stepping down because of the pressure from this protestors, ” said Ramaphosa.

If those who wanted to see the President stepping down were to listen to his words, then they would realise that they are dealing with a very strong individual who will not back down, but the protests will seemingly be persistent in the coming days.

Ramaphosa has been receiving support following this ordeal from prominent ANC members such as Blade Nzimande who also belives that the Phalaphala Scandal is aimed at removing the ANC from power and not just Ramaphosa himself.

It’s better to bring the soldiers down and TRT once and for all all to deal with those who are killing our brothers and sisters. Imagine shooting someone’s wife 14 times as if it’s a dog.

This is sad news, what’s happening in our country cannot be justified. We have received so many shooting and killings in such a short period. People are believed that this could be foreigners doing the killing around as their way of revenge. Actions need to be taken with immediate effect, we cannot keep losing our brothers and sisters. There is no law and order in our country because there is no consequences for the perpetrators. Sadly our country is run by criminals. They can’t shoot thiefs who are terrorising the community but know how to shoot their ladies 14 times,very sad. It seems like it’s easy to kill because punishment after killing is a good life in prison.

The past 3 weeks have been hectic for too many families. Some were woken up by neighbours, close friends and paramedics in the middle of the night informing them that their loved ones have passed away. Most of the departed were friendly people, they liked jokes, peace and harmony. They died for being too kind.

Ncumisa Nhloko (28) is a woman who was head-over-heels in love with her boyfriend, Menzi Nzimande. Menzi is one of the people who lost their lives in a Soweto tavern last week. Menzi was her pillar of strength and at the moment Ncumisa is having a hard time processing her lover’s death. We can say all we want, but losing a person you loved so much can be a pain of a lifetime. It won’t be easy dealing with such a grief, but things will ease up as time goes by.

Let us all face the fact that it is no longer safe in South Africa. It is not only in taverns, but even in the streets, churches, schools and taxi ranks among others. Apropos taverns, the government must not permit taverns to operate after 19h00 every day. This might help to decrease the crimes committed in the taverns. Most prohibited acts occur in the middle of the night when people are intoxicated.

Sincere condolences to all the people who lost their loved ones in the past few weeks. Coping with the loss of your loved ones can be the hardest thing ever, but the gracious God will comfort you.

What struck Tiktokers about the lady’s post is what is written on the tombstone. The deceased was Thabo, a gentleman who was born in 1964 and laid to rest in 2009. His birth, death and burial all happened in April.

From the family, the following message was engraved on the tomb:

As much as English isn’t everything, it’s important to be mindful of words and their construction of sentences because one word can completely change the meaning of something.

It has become such a great concern for the ordinary members of the public that this criminality keeps going on, despite the efforts from the police to curb the crime that is a serious problem for the people. People always have to look out for themselves and they always have to spend a lot of money ensuring that criminal activities are not committed on their watch, through security features and services .

Information on what led to the shooting is still skitchy, it is believed that this could have been simply and assassination of an individual investigations are going to reveal the identity of the person who has been killed as well as all the relevant information which the ordinary members of the public are looking for. This is definitely an individual who may be involved in business or any other kind of money making process, and he could have been simply executed for one reason or another because such actions or shootings do not happen out of the blue.
