It’s not uncommon to hear about assassinations occuring in South Africa, cases where people are murdered for one reason or another that does not relate to robbery and it seems like another one has occurred. Here are all the details surrounding the case of a couple that was murdered in the early hours of this morning. As well as some tips to protect your home.

At approximately 6:24 this morning, residents in Cottonlands Kwazulu Natal contacted RUSA (Reaction Unit South Africa). During a wellness check residents had discovered the bodies of a couple naked in their bed. RUSA officers and medics were dispatched to the scene and upon arrival they found a large crowd of people in the yard.

The couple, a thirty two year old male and thirty year old female was shot several times in their bodies and heads. There door was also forced open.

According to witnesses on the scene, they had heard multiple gunshots at approximately 2:30, however they were afraid to leave their home and instead waited several hours before before checking on everyone on the property.

In the report posted on the RUSA Facebook page, their was no mention of anything stolen and the motive of the murder was unknown, making it safe to assume that this was an assassination.

This case is a reflection of the type of crime occuring in South Africa and it’s why it’s important for South Africans to keep themselves safe. This starts with securing your home.

First and foremost focus on your doors, make sure that you have multiple locks on your doors as well as a dead bolt on the inside. Make sure that the door itself is sturdy and strong and cannot be damaged by weapons or people.

Next make sure to install an alarm or some other kind of security system in your home that will alert you if a intruder enters. You may also want to consider acquiring a legal weapon that will help you protect yourself and your family. Items like tasers, pepper spray or even a gun if you have the right paper work, can keep you safe.

Malesela Freddy Modiba has been sentenced to jail by the The Limpopo Division of the High Court in Polokwane on Thursday after he killed his girlfriend Lindiwe Mogale. Freddy Modiba pretended that he did not do anything after the accident, he visited his sister and the following day he went straight to Gauteng. A source revealed that he called at home and only to find that his girlfriend had died, that’s when he called his friend to pick him up. It seems like the guilty consciousness is the one that eat him until he decided to hand himself in police station.

Modiba worked as an electrician, he obviously knows the danger of using petrol substance. After he handed himself a sour e revealed that he did not plead guilty after he was charged and found guilty of counted 2 of damaging property and one of attempted murder.

Freddy Modiba was found guilty of attempted murder of Lindiwe Mogale and he was sentenced to 12 years in prison and also 3 years of damaging property. It appears that the judge concluded that he was drunk, ruthless and reckless at the where he set Lindiwe alight and damaging properties.

Earlier today we received some very heartbreaking news regarding the death of a well-known musician, she lost her battle against cancer a lot of people in life suffer the same fate in life.

He gave a very painful touching tribute, this morning we lost the matriarch of our family my supporter, and we my backbone. I am beyond devasted in my life I’ve never felt so much pain he went on to add that her mother was loved by everybody that had the privilege of meeting her.

Four people were arrested in Scenery Park, East London, in the Enyobeni tavern after they were accused of stealing valuable items from people who were dead or dying. A group of parents who wanted to stay anonymous called News24 and said they were worried about the missing belongings of their children who had died. Friday, the police said that the arrests were a result of the investigation that began right after the 21 teens died. “As part of the ongoing investigation by crime intelligence, SAPS detectives followed up on information that led to the arrest of suspects believed to have stolen from the dead bodies,” said police spokesman Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana.

He said that three people were arrested on Thursday and one 16-year-old was arrested on Friday, all at their Scenery Park homes. Kinana said that the 16-year-old was given back to his parents because of the Child Justice Act, which says that a child can’t be locked up in a police cell. Doctor found murdered and body hidden in the boot of the car

“He was arrested and detained at the Lingelethu West Police Station and released on bail,” HPCSA said in a statement at the time.

Ngwashele had been stabbed several times and the spare wheel of the car had been removed in order to fit his body.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi said the victim were declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.

“The unknown suspect/s who fled the scene are yet to be arrested. We have reason to believe that the motive behind the attack is extortion.

It is believed Ngwashele’s killers had demanded thousands of rands after apparently hijacking him in Samora Machel earlier this week.

Community leaders in Gugulethu said they were aware of the murder and did not want to comment prematurely.

ANC comrade, Sindisiwe Chikunga who recently lost her six family members including her son, daughter in-law and their four children, bid them farewell as they were laid to rest in Estcourt.

The children and grandchildren of the deputy minister of National Transport Sindisiwe Chikunga are being buried today. Her son, her daughter-in-law and their four children, passed away in a car accident that happened last Sunday. Their funeral service was held at home in Estcourt.

Police minister, Bheki Cele is one of the ANC comrades who attended the funeral service, as well as to comfortable their fellow comrade who lost her family members due to an accident.

Lately, many lives have been lost on the roads, and this has led citizens to question what exactly is happening in this country that so many people have been losing their lives. This has also made some suspicious who argue that this is beyond normal.

The high rise of killings in South Africa it really raises the citizens concerns . A very sad story of Mr Mthunzi Ngcobo (48) who was acting principal at Mshiywa Primary, is said to have been shot dead with his friend who was the chairman of the school’s governing body last week, the source revealed.

Ngcobo’s relative who is his blood said Mr. Vumani Ngcobo his brother was sitting in a shop in Kwa Gabela, Kwa Nyuswa Harding located in the South of KwaZulu Natal , when uknown people did not say anything but they came and shot and killed them.

He was able to speak to the source and he said, their hearts are broken and saddened as a family because his brother was killed in this way and he was too young. He continue said he hope that the lord will heal the wounds but it won’t be something that happens quickly because they are very sad, said Ngcobo.

The deceased left behind the dependents which is his wife and a 26-year-old son. He will be buried on Saturday at home, source said.

It is reported that Ngcobo’s killers are still at large.

The Sadtu Union in a statement condemned the incident of Ngcobo’s murder which it described as a stupid criminal act.

“We condemn these incidents that deprive us of honest and hard-working leaders like comrade Mthunzi. “The killing of teachers by criminals who live in the communities we teach puts us back in the process of providing quality education that will lift people out of poverty, inequality and unemployment,” Sadtu said in a statement.

The union expressed its condolences to the family, friends, Mshiywa Primary staff and members of Sadtu led by Ngcobo.

There will be a memorial service for Ngcobo on Thursday, at St Peters Church, Zinqoleni near the taxi rank at 12 noon.

Sadtu urged the police to work hard and ensure that Ngcobo’s killers are arrested.

It has asked anyone in the community who may have information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to pass it on to the police.

KwaZulu-Natl Department of Education spokesperson Mr. Sihle Mlotshwa said we have left them disheartened by the incident of Ngcobo’s murder.

Mlotshwa expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and said he hoped the police would arrest the suspects.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala said two murder cases are being investigated for the incident that happened on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

He said the attackers were shot by unknown people and the cause of the attack was not yet known.

A Mpumalanga activist, and businessman, Pompie Ledwaba who had previously accused deputy president, David Mabuza of assassinating whistleblowers in the province during his tenure as ANC chairperson, has changed his tune after being dragged to court.

Ledwaba had made serious allegations against Mabuza citing that in Mpumalanga province where he got the nickname “the cat”, he was known allegedly for carrying out assassinations of his opponents.

He further stated that Mabuza was feared in the province due to that issue. Ledwaba argued that people from Mozambique were the ones who were allegedly being hired to carry out political assassinations, and that after carrying out the task, they were then paid and told to leave the country.

Mabuza had constantly denied that he directed criminals to fight his political or personal battles and that citizens with evidence linking him to any crime should approach the authorities.

These allegations saw deputy president, David Mabuza dragging Pompie Ledwaba to court, as he cites that this was defamation and the claims were also malicious. Ledwaba however failed to substantiate his allegations against Mabuza in court, which led him to sing a different tune. He said he never accused Mabuza of political killings, but was only pointing out that a lot of people died during his tenure.

David Mabuza’s special advisor, general Mlungi Mphego reacting to the turn of events in court, revealed that this should be a lesson to those who want to fabricate and spread falsehoods against the deputy president.

“This was the ideal opportunity for Ledwaba and his cohorts to come forward with evidence to substantiate his allegations. His capitulation in court speaks volumes. This must be a lesson to those who made it their business to fabricate and trade in lies. We are coming for them,” Mlungi Mphego said.

Mabuza maintains that if there is anyone who has evidence that he hired hitmen to carry out political assassinations, then those individuals must approach the police and report.
