It’s so sad how some women can be so cruel, how can a mother give birth to a child and then take the child’s life without even thinking twice. A woman from Pretoria did the unthinkable as she killed her own newborn baby by drowning her in a 20litre bucket full of boiling water, the incident happened last week.

A 29-year-old woman by the name of Tapiwa Chipo in Rietfonten has allegedly killed her newborn baby, it was alleged that this was her second attempt after she had tried to abort the baby but failed to do so.

Ms Lumka Mahanjana who is the spokesperson of The National Prosecution Authority for the Northern Gauteng reported that the accused will be appearing in the Brits Magistrate Court facing murder charges. She added bag Chipo spied for bail but it was denied and was remanded in custody to 15 May as she will be facing murder charges, however, more investigations are being done.

“It is alleged that Wendy flipped her newborn child into a 20litre of boiling water after her first attempt to abort the baby before it was born failed,” the spokesperson said.

She added that after boiling her child Wendy put the baby in a plastic bag and she and her friends went to bury her in a nearby bush, she then made her friends make a promise that they would keep the secret between themselves.

The matter was revealed by one of her friends who could not live with this deep dark secret as she went to the police and revealed what had happened.

“Shots were fired from the minibus and the officials on the roadblock returned fire. One male was slightly injured during the cross-fire and rushed to the hospital in Bloemfontein.

“Eventually all vehicles were stopped and searched. One-hundred-and-fifty-eight passengers were found to be travelling into the Republic of South Africa without proper documents allowing them to be in the country. Two firearms with a magazine loaded with rounds were found hidden inside the BMW sedan,” Michele said.

Five men aged between 24 and 39 travelling in the BMW were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

“The BMW registration number plates and license disc were also not corresponding. A total number of 158 passengers were arrested as illegal immigrants.”

He said the five men arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, as well as possession of the presumably stolen property, were expected to appear in Wepener Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Free State provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane, praised the joint efforts of the SAPS and South African National Defence Force, for the arrest.

“As law enforcement agencies we will never allow a situation where people want to do as they like and not obey our laws,” she said.

Thabo Lekgatla (33) said he believed that this was an inside job.

Later that day, Majanhana said the concerned mother decided she would share a bed with the boy, and that is when she noticed that he was struggling to sleep and had some bleeding.

“The following day, the mother noticed that money was withdrawn from her account, and when she confronted him, he informed the mother that he took the money to buy the teacher a PlayStation 4, for him to stop bullying him. The mother reported the matter to the police and Ntuli was arrested on 18 May 2022,” Mahajan said.

In court, Ntuli asked to be released on bail. However, State prosecutor Lorinda van Pittius told the court that it was not in the best interest of justice for the accused to be released on bail.

The prosecution also submitted that Ntuli was not yet suspended at the school and he might pose a threat to the child.

“Therefore, no exceptional circumstances were warranting his release on bail. The magistrate, denied his bail, saying that the accused did not satisfy the court that it was in the interest of justice that he should be released on bail,” Mahajan said.

Isibaya actor loses everything to fire

Popular Isibaya and Z’bondiwe actor Khumbulani Khuzwayo lost all his belongings and his meat business during the recent tragic fire at Kwa Mai Mai informal settlement in Joburg.

Khumbulani, who’s appeared in Ingozi, Saints and Sinners, The Alliance and more is begging for any donations to bring his life and business back after the fire on Saturday night.

He became one of over 800 homeless people after the fire destroyed about 400 shacks, as well as his meat business, his source of income, as he was still trying to get acting jobs.

Khumbulani, who played Sgeiks on Isibaya season 8 told the publication he’d appreciate any kind of help from anyone after the fire.

“Since I’m still looking for an acting job, I decided to start a meat business at Kwa Mai Mai where I have been selling meat and living since December.
