Mira administers the powder she received from Jyothi into Nirupa’s sweetener. Jyothi tells Mira that the powder will make Nirupa feel like she’s losing her mind.

A few days ago, the star claimed that she and her wife, Lebo Keswa got attacked by her ex-lover.

The actress opened an assault case against Tshepo after he went wild with her.

19 injured in a 13-vehicle accident on N2 in KZN

Private Ambulance Service on Saturday afternoon responded to a 13-vehicle collision on the N2 South Bound at Esperanza in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).

Upon assessment, paramedics found 19 patients had sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.

Emergency recovery services cleared the section of the road while paramedics treated some of the patients at the scene.

Those with severe injuries were transported to a nearby hospital for further medical assistance.

Numsa condemns shop steward’s murder in Rustenburg

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) has condemned the murder of its shopsteward at Implats in Rustenburg, North West.

Mahlomola Hlothoane was shot and killed on Friday night at his home in Rustenburg by two unknown gunmen, according to Numsa general secretary Irvin Jim.

“Comrade Mahlomola was a Numsa shopsteward who assisted the union by coordinating recruitment and mobilising workers at Implats.

“We are deeply shocked and saddened as a trade union that we have lost a leader who was dedicated to the struggle of workers,” Jim said in a statement on Sunday.

Numsa sent its condolences to Hlothoane’s family, saying his murder was the second official of the union who was murdered for allegedly organizing workers at Implats.

“Last year we buried comrade Malibongwe Mdazo who was assassinated in a similar fashion. His killers have not been found.”

Numsa demanded that the South African Police Service urgently find and arrest those who are responsible for the murders.

“It is unacceptable that people are dying simply for exercising their constitutional right to join a union of their choice.

“We demand justice for these murders and we demand that the police must ensure that the community of Rustenburg, particularly in the immediate surrounding area of Implats is safe for all who live there.”

President Ramaphosa leads condolences for 22 victims of Eastern Cape tavern tragedy

President Cyril Ramaphosa has sent his condolences to the families of the 22 “teenagers” who died in a tavern in the Eastern Cape in the early hours of Sunday morning.

In a tweet on Sunday afternoon, Ramaphosa said: ”My deepest condolences go to the families of the 22 teenagers who lost their lives at a tavern in Scenery Park, East London, in the early hours of this morning.”

It comes as police forensics and other crime scene investigators were still at the Enyobeni Tavern in East London piecing together the circumstances that led to the tragedy.

Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane told reporters at the scene that 17 people died at the scene and the others in hospital.

According to police, the victims are believed to between the ages of 18 and 20.

Scores of community members gathered at the grisly scene from early on Sunday as news spread of the tragedy.

While many were curious onlookers, some had come in search of their loved ones who had not returned home.

Police were advising community members, many of whom were agitated, to check the mortuary and hospital for missing family members.

Police Minister Bheki Cele was expected to arrive in the Eastern Cape on Sunday, adding further weight to the probe into the deaths.

Earlier, Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mbuyane has visited the Enyobeni Tavern in Scenery Park in East London.

Mbuyane described the incident as “shocking” and said it cast a spotlight on liquor licences and how they were enforced. “You can’t just have a tavern in the middle of a residential area,” he said.

According to media reports, the owner of the tavern was said to be distraught over the incident and had decided to close the business while police investigate.

The circumstances of the deaths were not yet established, but initial reports suggested that poor ventilation and the possibility of a poisonous substance in the air led to a stampedem which resulted in the deaths.

Eskom: Stage 4 load shedding extended until Wednesday

Eskom’s announced Stage 4 load shedding will be extended until Wednesday.

The power utility says power cuts are anticipated to continue from 5 am on Monday until midnight “at least” on Wednesday.

It cites “unlawful industrial action” at a number of power stations as the main cause as it has impacted planned maintenance and repairs.

“Eskom appeals to its labour partners and striking employees to put the people of South Africa first, respect the law and to desist from unlawful and undemocratic conduct.”
