Breaking: people still cannot believe what this boy brought to school

Over the last few years, social media challenges have grown in popularity.

The #NoSchoolBagChallenge, which has proven a hit with students at several schools, is the most recent one to go viral on social media.

Kgomotso High School in Pampierstad, Northern Cape, dedicated an entire day to the challenge on Friday, March 11th, urging students to bring their books to school in anything other than a school bag.

The students had a great time using everything they could think of, such as wheelbarrows, baskets, and cooler boxes.

When one student arrived at school carrying his belongings in a baby coffin, several others were taken aback. Everyone was drawn to the light brown casket with gold ornamentation and handles, and his classmates all wanted a picture of him with it.

While many students agreed that he was definitely the victor and deserving of a trophy, others were taken aback.

“Dear parents, guardians, and carers,” the school said on its Facebook page ahead of the challenge. Please be aware that tomorrow our students will take part in the #NoSchoolBagChallenge. Pupils may bring their books in any container other than their regular school bag.

When kids ask to put their books in your wheelbarrow, please help them. I’m told there will be a Mrapas battle during the break, with our hip-hop fans demonstrating their skills. It’s just another school day, and it’ll end the same way.”

Photos of the youngster carrying the casket went viral, causing a stir on social media.

“I guess we have a winner,” Katlego Thuto Makwene commented on Facebook.

“Of all the schools in the nine provinces, I vote for you boy,” Jacqueline Nema wrote.

Drugs and guns killing the country. Police making many arrests related to drugs

The fight against drugs in South Africa is not an easy one and it’s not one that can be won in one day. But every drug dealer arrested is drugs off the streets of the country and is a step closer to a drug-free South Africa.

The Police have for long set sights on removing drugs from the streets that are plaguing communities. This effort saw an adult female land behind bars for dealing drugs.

Members of the police based in Paarl East Crime Prevention Unit in conjunction with Crime Intelligence executed a search warrant at premises in Wisteria Street, Paarl East, on the 14th of March 2022. They struck gold when they found an assortment of drugs at the place.

The list includes 33 packets of crystal meth, 133 mandrax tablets, 33 dagga cigarettes, and an undisclosed amount of cash in the house which is suspected to be proceeds from the drug dealing business.

The police were not done, the same police members arrested two suspects who are aged 29 and 39 for the possession of an unlicensed firearm and drugs. These were found when they searched premises at Springbok flats.

The list of drugs confiscated at the place were 30 mandrax tablets, ten half mandrax tablets, seven dagga cigarettes, and a firearm with ammunition.

Once all the suspects are charged, they will make their court appearances in Paarl Magistrates court respectively.

A student who died after being assaulted by a teacher and staff member had a toy gun

The 15-year-old pupil who died after being beaten allegedly by a teacher and a staff member was carrying a toy gun which the adults tried to take from him during his assault.

This is according to Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi who visited the boy’s family yesterday. Lesufi said Nhlanhla Tshabalala had gone to fetch his bag at Tsakane Secondary School, East Rand, last Tuesday when a scuffle ensued after staff members tried to take his toy gun.

“In the process, the child was seriously harmed and attacked using a golf stick and other things. According to the school, after retrieving the gun, they called the police and handed over the learner to the police in a good state.

“Police, because of his age, could not arrest him and they brought him to his home. We need to get from the police the state in which they left him when they left him here.

“Because of those grey areas and unexplained activities, we will appoint an independent person just to interview everyone and get the necessary evidence. On the basis of that evidence, if we need to act, we will act decisively as a department,” Lesufi said.

But Nhlanhla’s family said he first went to the school on Monday where a scuffle ensued with other pupils. His father Oupa Tshabalala said his cellphone and schoolbag were left at the school.

Tshabalala said the teenager returned on Tuesday to fetch the bag, cellphone and also to see his girlfriend who goes to Tsakane Secondary. Nhlanhla was a grade 9 pupil at Retshogofaditswe Secondary School, also in Tsakane.

“It is painful for my child to die in the hands of other parents. These are people that we thought are taking care of our children while we are at work. We are also unhappy as a family about the answers that have been given to us as they were not straight.

“I admit my child was at another school, which was wrong. But that day he had gone there to see his girlfriend. He went there to fetch his schoolbag and cellphone.

“When they found the toy gun which his mother confirms she saw, why did they use so much force? Why was the security guard carrying a golf stick?” Tshabalala asked.

All schools in the area have been shut down by angry parents and pupils who are demanding justice for Nhlanhla.

A video of Nhlahla being assaulted has been circulating. In the video, two men can be seen pressing the teenager to the ground while other pupils are shouting, meaning “shoot him”.

Lesufi said the department will not rush into suspending the implicated staff members until it gets a report.

A lot of people believe that he was killed because he had started to make a lot of money and people were very jealous of his newfound success.

RIP : After Downs’ Defeat, Player’s DEATH ‘Shocks’ Pitso’s Side

It appears that Al Ahly’s 1-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns in the Caf Champions League group stage was not the only unfortunate incident that occurred over the weekend, with news coming out of Cairo that they have lost a promising young player in what has been termed as a “tragic accident.”

According to a statement posted on the club’s official website, Al Ahly’s academy player, Ziad Ihab, 19, sadly passed away following a fatal fall from the balcony of the house he was staying in, and unfortunately, he could not survive the injuries he suffered as he died on the scene.

The tragic incident is said to have occurred on Sunday morning.

“With great regret and sorrow, Captain Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, and members of the board of directors and the sports sectors mourn one of the club’s sons, the young Ziad Ihab, goalkeeper of Al-Ahly football team, born in 2003, who passed away today Sunday,” the statement read.

“The Board of Directors expresses its heartfelt sympathies to the deceased’s family and co-workers, and prays that the Almighty God bless him with his great mercy and welcome him into his magnificent gardens. We belong to Allah, and we will return to Him,” it added.

The African Club of the Century went further to indicate that they will ensure the young man’s funeral costs are fully covered from the club’s coffers.

Ihab was said to be destined to become the next Esam El Hadary – the Egyptian legendary goalie – due to the shot-stopping abilities and the quick reflexes he possessed.

You could argue that, despite not being a first-team player, head coach Pitso Mosimane and the rest of the team must have been stunned to return to Cairo and be met with the awful news.

The Red Devils have not been in their usual form recently, but they will be fired up to defend their continental crown as well as to reclaim the Egyptian Premier League, especially to honor Ihab’s memory.
