Teachers Ms Mkhize And Ms Kgatitsoe Were Shot Dead By Ms Mkhize’s Husband At The School Ground

The Johannesburg Department of Education has released the names and photographs of two teachers who were shot dead at Lekgalong Primary School in Ga-Rankuwa.

Vumile Mkhize (26), and Brenda Dimakatso Kgatitsoe (27), were shot dead by Vumile’s husband on the school grounds on Monday.

Brenda’s older brother, Mandla Kgatitsoe, said her sister died because she was Vumile’s best friend.

“We are still shocked as a family over the death of my sister. My mother was devastated by her death, ”said Mandla.

Mandla said his sister and Vumile lived in the same yard. He said Vumile had problems in his marriage and was about to divorce.

“While she was going to say goodbye to her friend, her friend’s husband locked them in the house and shot them,” she said.

Mandla said his sister, who has been a full-time teacher for two years, had a promising career waiting for him. He said he was a happy man and a man who told the truth.

“If he wasn’t happy with you, he would have understood you right away.”

Meanwhile, Vumile’s brother, Sbongiseni Buthelezi, said his sister was like a mother to him.

“Vumile was younger than I was but he took care of me and other family members as if he were older than the rest of us,” she said.

“Our mother died years ago but she did everything for us as she was like my mother. I will miss him very much. ”

Johannesburg Education Minister Panyaza Lesufi visited the two families and said the department was facing problems as death plagued the sector.

Lesufi also said that last week a pupil died on the school premises in Tsakane, adding to the number of two teachers who were shot dead and one shot dead by a police officer.

He emphasized the need for the state to address lawlessness in the country, especially in cases of violence against women and children.

“There is a need to find ways to protect women in communities from abuse and violence based on violence against women and children.

A heated clash occurred between criminals and police after they were chased and crashed on Inanda

Police in Phoenix have secured the successful arrest of five suspects following a heated shootout, it is alleged that the suspects committed a house robbery in the Phoenix area earlier this week, and another robbery at a Jewellery store in Phoenix Plaza.

According to the saps news report, yesterday, Saturday, 26 March 2022 at around 12:30 pm police received information from an anonymous source who spotted a vehicle occupied by suspects who allegedly committed a house robbery, police officers responded to this information and proceeded to the scene.

While police officers were traveling on the M19, they spotted the suspected vehicle on Inanda Road traveling towards Parlock, police chased after them and this led to the shooting at officers, and police returning fire in self-defense, eventually, they lost control of the vehicle and ended up crashing into a barrier along Inanda Road near Parlock.

Five suspects were placed under arrest and two others were declared dead on the scene, it’s alleged the suspects committed a house robbery in the Phoenix area earlier this week, and one of the suspects is on bail for a robbery that was committed at a Jewellery store in Phoenix Plaza.

Police searched the vehicle and found jewelry, cellphones, and two unlicensed firearms, they will soon make an appearance at the Durban Magistrates Court to face charges of possession of an illegal firearm, attempted murder, robbery, and possession of suspected stolen property.

During a drinking frenzy at Letlapeng outside Hamanskraal this weekend, a 17-year-old woman stabbed her 20-year-old lover to death. The couple was out with other customers at a nearby booze store when they got into an altercation. The man pulled out a sharp instrument and fatally stabbed his partner seven times.

Following the horrific spectacle, an eyewitness alerted Hamanskraal police. Bohle Setshedi, a 17-year-old girl, claimed, My boyfriend was cheating on me after 5 years of marriage. She stated, I didn’t want to do this, but he forced me to.

She went on to say that she could get arrested and yet be alright. She stated, “I will remember my partner and I will pay for what I did to him. Her parents arrived at the police station to check on her after receiving multiple calls from police officers after she was taken to the station by Hamanskraal policemen.

The 20-year-old youngster died shortly after being admitted to the hospital. Doctors at Hamanskraal did everything they could to save him from death. Unfortunately, as fate would have it, a poor 20-year-old boy did not survive.
